Hey Beauties!
Lately I’ve been getting a little lengthly on my IG captions and I’ve been thinking:
1. Not everyone here catches my IG.
2. Sometimes you just have a few more words to say.
So I thought, although this post is a little different than my normal post or post to spot light my latest video, I truly believe that beauty is both external and internal. And as much time as girls spend on their selves externally to get all glam and glowy, we need to invest in our inner beauty. Because external will fade but eternal last forever. So I thought I would give it a share!
As I was journaling this morning I wrote
“Let my thoughts of the future be the inspiration for
the growth of today.”
I’m always thinking about the future- planning, dreaming, praying, believing, goal making and everything in between to get to where my heart, mind and spirit longs to be. To be honest, my weakness is being so focused on the future that I get eager to just check off another day to get closer to somewhere that I know just takes time. And something just take time and it doesn’t matter how hard to you try, time is always a factor. For example, saving money. It doesn’t matter how badly you want to quickly save a thousand dollars. If you can only save $100 per paycheck, you have to continually wait for that next paycheck for 10 times before you reach your goal! Perhaps you can cut back on coffee and be able to get to your goal faster by putting your coffee money into saving. But truth be told, you only are able to make a certain amount each pay period. And for a girl like me that works commission, that takes my planning self to a whole other over analyzing level! And then before you know it, I’ve wasted valuable time just to get through the day trying to pass 10 pay periods to celebrate saving $1,000.
Okay, that was just a hypothetically, but I think you get my point.
Ironically, to get to where I want to be there are things that need to happen to get there and life is more than the focus of just one thing. Time and life is complex and valuable.
So, I encourage you (and for sure myself!) instead of proudly checking off your calendar days take the days with every advantage. Lessons are to be learned, growth is needed, foundational blocks are to be built.
Today I choose to stop growing tired and impatient of waiting. I’m focusing on being proactive and making sure I’m doing what I need and can to do each day to get there faster.
Anyone else get so caught up in the future that you devalue today? 🙋🏼♀️
xoxo
