Beauty and the ‘Burg

New Chapter, Same Book…

Every once in a while a new chapter starts in life.

I recently turned thirty and the very next day my husband, dog, and I started our very long drive from Fort Collins, Colorado to Lynchburg, Virginia. It took us three LONG days to get here. With the help of lots of snacks and podcasts to keep us entertained and awake, we finally made it. Although our time in Colorado was an adventure, we are excited to be back in the South. I grew up in Alabama but just three months after getting married, we moved to Colorado for my husband’s job. The opportunity to move to Lynchburg for another job, allowed us to once again enjoy many of the things we had missed about the South. We really missed real sweet tea, Krispy Kreme donuts, our families, old friends, warm weather, and yes, even the humidity!

Let me just pause right here and thank you for visiting Lin Tomasek Beauty! Seriously, that means a lot! I hope you come back often, leave me a message, and share this with your friends. In return, I hope I can inspire you, give you amazing tips and tricks, share about products, and of course – all things beauty.

Beauty Tales…

I entered the beauty world around 3rd grade when I would race home to braid my own hair into micro braids (really more just like 20 braids because that was all my arms could stand) or give one of my Barbies a “cute” new bob – oops, sorry, Mom!

After I graduated high school, I started playing with hair color and somehow managed to convince others that although I had no license and my own hair was pretty fried, I was worthy enough to do their hair AND charge them.

Many years later, I decided to get the proper training and earn the credentials to do hair. Over the years, I have had the privilege to learn from talented hairstylists and work at some amazing salons. It is one of the best decisions I have made.

I got into makeup in somewhat of an unusual way. I always did my own, but I really didn’t take time to do more than the basics. The first kind of makeup I really started expanding and growing in was stage and costume makeup. It has only been in the past year that I have worked hard on perfecting the type of makeup that most makeup artists do. About a year ago, I was introduced to an amazing makeup line that I became obsessed with and decided to partner with and sell.

I won’t bore you will all the details of the rest of my career but feel free to check out the rest of my website to see more on what I do. You can also check out my hair portfolio here. Of course, if you have any questions or would like to book me, shoot me a message…I would love to chat!

Until the next time…bask in your beauty and continue writing your story!
